CushyCMS (www.cushycms.com) is a Content Management Systems
(CMS) that is truly simple and also happens to be free!
It's built from the ground up with ease of
use in mind - for both content editors and designers. It's such a simple CMS
that it takes less than 3 minutes for a web designer to implement. No PHP or
ASP required for this CMS. If you can add CSS classes to HTML tags then you can
implement CushyCMS. It's also a hosted CMS, so no installation or maintenance
is needed either.
Getting something for nothing isn't something we accept readily, but in
recent years it's certainly become more prevalent on the web thanks to
high speed broadband and the growth in web applications that rely
heavily on the 'freemium' model to make money. In order to get a large
user base, many web services are free, and premium options are added
later for business users who need more powerful features, and less
restrictions. This often works out as a good deal for the business user
compared to expensive software, but even better for the average user
who can get by with the free version quite happily and never have to
pay a penny.
The online office has been touted as the next big thing for years now but has still to take off in a bigway. This can mostly be put down to the requirement for a high speed Internet connection, a lackof functionality in online applications, perhaps most importantly, the grip that Microsoft Office hason the business world. There is a lack of marketing as well. Unless you are a regular reader oftechnology news and blogs, there is no real way of knowing that a world of wonderful and freetools exist out there on the internet. So what exactly is an online office suite, and what use are theyif any?
