The 123-communicate programme was developed in 2004 and has provided practical support on web-based communications to over 200 local community and voluntary groups in Pembrokeshire.

Until Spring 2008 we are providing a service restricted to Communities First wards in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Merthyr Tydfil.

1 – Information

Sometimes you may just need some extra information or signposting so we created a series of Information Sheets , web resources for signposting and a selection of hard copy resources in your local CVC.

2 – Getting Online

If you require more practical help our Circuit Riders team can meet with your group and provide the following assistance:-

  • How to get on the internet or get an email address
  • Support with developing a simple website and getting it 'live'

Visit websites of groups we have helped.

We work closely with your group to plan and develop your website at your own pace – this could be in a few weeks or over a period of months- you decide.

We provide:

  • Telephone and email support from our ICT Helpdesk during the process

  • FREE basic web hosting for your website
  • Web based emails for your group members
  • Workshops on content creation with images, audio and video to add extra interest for visitors to your site.
  • Support to improve and expand your websites if you already have one, to increase what it does and to ensure it is accessible.

3 - Communicating Effectively

We also help groups or networks to set up their own on-line communities or blogs.

What is an on-line community?
An on-line community is a secure web space where groups or networks can share information, store documents/images and exchange ideas. They can be standalone or embedded in your public website.

How do I join one?
The majority are open to all users interested in the community subject and you join via an invitation from the community guide or other group member.
The invitation process allows the community guides to provide a secure environment for people to chat and exchange information.

How do I set one up?
Please contact the Circuit Rider Team for more details on how to set up your own community on-line.
